Lynch to the Big East

It came down to the feeling Cameron Lynch had on campus during his visit a few weeks ago.

"It was between Vanderbilt and Syracuse and I just felt totally at home when I visited Syracuse a few weeks ago," said Cameron Lynch.

"The academics really sold me from the very beginning too. I am going to major in mechanical engineering and the academic advisor that showed me around really showed me a lot of good things. I was hooked on Syracuse then and when I left I knew I had that special feeling."

That feeling led to Lynch's commitment on Friday afternoon.

"I called Coach [Doug] Marrone first, but he could not answer because he was at Disney World with his family, so I called Coach [Greg] Adkins and committed to him first."

"He was very excited, so he got Coach Marrone on the phone and he was ecstatic too. Coach Marrone told me we were going to start a winning tradition at Syracuse and he is glad I am going to be a part of it."

A number of other schools were in pursuit of this linebacker out of Snellville (GA) Brookwood, but if they continue to recruit him they will be wasting their time.

"My mind is made up and I am set with my decision," Lynch stated. "It is a relief to have the recruiting process behind me and I am now in that comfort zone. I know where I am going and I can focus on my senior year now."

Lynch will play weakside linebacker for the Orange. He currently carries a 3.6 GPA and he has already scored a 1550 on the SAT.
