Tigers checking on Memphis DT

Clemson defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks headed west to Memphis this May to check in on one of the class of 2011 defensive tackles that have picked up an offer from the Tigers.

DT Terry Redden Profile

CUTigers recently caught up with Whitehaven High School defensive tackle Terry Redden about his summer.

"I haven't been to any camps, really, but I've been to a bunch of combines," he said. "I went the National Underclassman, the Ultimate 100—a lot of other combines like that."

Plans for visits are starting to come together, too.

"I'm supposed to be going to Tennessee soon," he said.

Though he's yet to visit Clemson, Redden does look forward to scheduling one later in the fall.

"I plan on taking an official there. As far as during the summer, I don't know," he said.

"They're very serious about me getting better. They're program is very family-oriented."

Along with the Clemson offer, which was sent out the day he could receive written offers, Redden has picked up offers from Mississippi, Mississippi State, Memphis and most recently Kansas.

"I have no favorites, but I am looking at everybody who offers," he said.

Redden has an idea of how long he wants to take before making his decision, which could come in the next few months.

"I probably want to wait until about mid-season in the fall," he said.

"I'm looking for a school that's not too far away from home. I want good academics, a chance at playing time and a good bond with the coaching staff."

Redden finished his junior season with 55 tackles, seven sacks, three fumble recoveries and one fumble return for six yards.
