Elite Ohio lineman selects Alabama
"I think Alabama is completely different than college football is in Ohio," said Ryan Kelly. "Everywhere you go thrives around football. The atmosphere is crazy down there. The humidity is different, but I like it."
Distance didn't play much of a factor especially after seeing players like Mark Ingram travel all the way to Tuscaloosa to play football.
"If Mark Ingram's family can drive 11 hours from Michigan it's not that big of a factor," Kelly said earlier this summer. "The people at Alabama are so nice. That is the main thing I noticed. Everyone treats you with respect. It's a college town which is important. It's the summer time, and everyone is still talking about football. The campus is really nice, and I like the atmosphere."
Kelly is the second offensive lineman to commit to the Tide in the class of 2011.
