With one month of college football behind us, has the Vanderbilt team met or failed expectations thus far?

Failed. Observers believed 3-1 was possible or at least 2-2 but a tough schedule coupled with some poor play and bad luck has resulted in 1-3.

What one player has been the key factor in the first 3-4 games?

Punter Richard Kent has been outstanding and currently ranks 16th nationally in punting with an over 45 yard average.

What are the key improvements that need to be made in order to ensure a successful season?

Vanderbilt gets a bye week before traveling to Missouri on October 6th. The Commodores need badly to improve their offensive production. Vandy is last in SEC third down conversion, converting just 23 percent. Additionally, the Commodores have scored only four touchdowns in 15 trips into the red zone.

How would your team define "success" this season?

Getting back to a bowl game. Vanderbilt has never before had teams go to bowl games in two consecutive seasons.

What is the most dominant headline the remainder of the season?

Whether or not Vanderbilt will put early season woes behind them.

Thanks to Vandy Mania's Don Yates for his in-depth contribution to this report.
