Winston Wins Heisman Trophy

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston won the 2013 Heisman Trophy, the 79th annual Heisman Trophy presentation on Saturday night.

The Hueytown (Ala.) native, who has the Seminoles in the BCS National Championship Game after a 13-0 season and ACC title, became the third Florida State player, and quarterback, to win college football's most prestigious award.

Winston had 668 first place votes and 2,205 points, the fifth largest margin of victory in the modern era.  Interestingly, Winston was left 115 ballots altogether.

Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron was second, finishing third was Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch, Boston College running back Andre Williams came in at fourth and 2012 winner, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel finished fifth.

Auburn running back Tre Mason, who's Tigers will face Winston in Pasadena next month, finished sixth.
