Is Ohio State the team of destiny?

Just like 2014 Auburn? How’d that work out when the Tigers had to stop ol’ Jameis in the final moments of BCS Championship?

Of course Ohio State isn’t any sort of “team of destiny,” mainly because that’s not giving the team enough credit for doing this on its own.

Ohio State is a team of superior athletes with plenty of NFL talent across the board, four-and-five-star recruits galore, and everything in place to be in the inaugural College Football Playoff national championship. This isn’t destiny – this is what Ohio State football is supposed to do with Urban Meyer as the head coach.

There’s no fate involved here, and there’s no luck. Ohio State was as impressive as any team in the country after the early loss to Virginia Tech, and for those who want to give credence to the idea that the team caught a break from the playoff committee in the final rankings …

Ohio State 59, Wisconsin 0.

The Buckeyes had to do something big, and had to do something splashy, and with everything on the line, they came out and performed like a team that HAD to be put in the playoff. All of a sudden, you couldn’t have a College Football Playoff without the dominant Big Ten champion, and Ohio State did what it had to do to make it that way.
