The Texas Tech Red Raiders currently sit 1-0 after defeating the Sam Houston State Bearkats in week one in Lubbock. There were bright spots to the victory, including the play of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 425 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the season-opener. On Monday, Mahomes earned the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week Award and on Wednesday, the signal-caller was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week.
Victory aside, there are still a few questions surrounding Texas Tech as they prepare to face the UTEP Miners in week two. Raider Power's Jarret Johnson discusses the obstacles surrounding this team, including some inconsistency on the defense, as well as offensive mistakes that the team made in week one.
