LSU Tigers super sophomore Leonard Fournette is taking college football by storm. Through four games Fournette has been unstoppable, rushing for 834 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging almost 9 yards a carry. He’s posting numbers that legends like Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker didn’t even hit. He scored his third consecutive 200-yard rushing game which is an SEC record. At this pace, Fournette is on track to rush for over 2,200 yards.
Meanwhile, epic battles loom ahead against two great defenses when Tigers take on Florida and Alabama.
Quite honestly, this doesn’t surprise me one bit. Fournette is one of the best running back prospects I have ever seen and the best high school running back recruit since Adrian Peterson. Fournette was a phenom when he first stepped foot on the campus of St. Augustine high school in New Orleans. That was when I first met him in his high school hallways back in 2011. Fournette had a storied prep career and went wire to wire as Scout’s top ranked recruit in the class of 2014.
Fast forward to today and he’s knocking on the door of greatness and being compared to some of the game’s best college running backs as a young sophomore. There’s still plenty to accomplish for the talented Tiger so sit back and enjoy.
