The former Eastern Washington and Oregon Ducks standout, Vernon Adams, inked a 3-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes. Adams will bring toughness, loads of talent, and leadership to a team who finished in last place in the East Division a season ago.
When healthy last season for the Ducks, Adams proved to be one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the nation. In 10 games, he finished with over 2,500 yards passing, 26 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. Adams consistently showed elusiveness and pinpoint accuracy while in the pocket.
In the 2015-16 campaign, Adams led the ducks to a comeback in triple overtime victory at Arizona State, where he easily surpassed 300 yards and threw 4 touchdowns. He also helped knock off the then 7th ranked team in the country, Stanford, where he went 10-12 passing for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Not to mention that Adams had tremendous success against the Pac-12 while playing for Eastern Washington. He helped take down the Oregon State Beavers in 2013. The next season, in Seattle, Adams threw for over 400 yards and 7 touchdowns at Washington only to come just short in his comeback effort.
Look for Adams to make an immediate positive impact for Montreal.
