Baylor Receiver KD Cannon to Undergo Knee Surgery

Bears Wide Receiver KD Cannon will Undergo Knee Surgery Tuesday

Just one day after Baylor set a school record selling out the 2016 football season tickets with 28,843 sold, star wide receiver KD Cannon will undergo surgery for a knee injury today.

The Maxwell Award candidate is said to have suffered a minor knee injury during off-season workouts. He is not expected to miss any of the 2016 season following the surgical procedure.

Cannon started all 13 games at wide receiver for the Bears last season. In his sophomore season Cannon totaled 868 yards and six touchdowns on 50 receptions. On special teams he added 114 yards on seven kick returns. His 2015 performance landed him second-team All-Big 12 honors. 

The Bears open the 2016 season at home against Northwestern State on September 2.
