Two Baylor Bears Land Preseason Big 12 Nods

Baylor lands fourth in Big 12 preseason rankings with two players earning nods

The Big 12 Conference has announced its 2016 preseason rankings and preseason All-Big 12 Team chosen by members of the media who cover the conference.

The Baylor Bears were picked fourth in the Big 12 behind No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 TCU, and No. 3 Oklahoma State.

Wide receiver KD Cannon and offensive lineman Kyle Fuller were picked to the preseason All-Big 12 team. Both earned second-team All-Big 12 nods after last season. Cannon underwent knee surgery earlier this week and is expected to be healthy in time for the start of the 2016 season.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was selected as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson as Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and TCU quarterback Kenny Hill as Preseason Newcomer of the Year.

Big 12 Media Days will be held July 18 and 19 in Dallas. Baylor’s new Head Coach Jim Grobe, cornerback Ryan Reid, and quarterback Seth Russell will be attending on the 19.
