Pac-12 Network Reaches Agreement with Twitter to Live Stream 150+ Events

The broadcasts will start as soon as the 2016-2017 season.

Twitter will play host to at least 150 live streams of Pac-12 events, the Pac-12 Networks announced Thursday.

These events include soccer, gymnastics, volleyball, baseball, swimming and diving and will begin during the start of 2016-2017 season. A schedule of events will be released as the college sports season approaches.

School-produced Olympic events fall under this umbrella, too, like ice hokey, swimming and diving, volleyball, track and field, wrestling, lacrosse, tennis, water polo, baseball, soccer, and gymnastics.

The events will be produced by Pac-12 member universities and will be streamed via the conference and school websites.

This isn't the first time Twitter has dabbled in sports either -- most recently, the social network streamed the finals of the Wimbledon tennis tournament, and has also agreed to stream Thursday night NFL games.
