Former UGA Player and Falcons Head Coach Marion Campbell Dies at 87

Campbell was an All-SEC player while at Georgia.

Former Georgia defensive lineman and Atlanta Falcons head coach Marion Campbell passed away Monday at 87. 

Campbell played for the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles before beginning his coaching career with the Falcons. He also coached with the Eagles . He returned to Athens, Ga. in 1993 to serve head coach Ryan Goff as defensive coordinator. 

While at Georgia, Campbell earned All-SEC honors before his two Pro Bowl appearances in 1959 and 1960. He was named to first team All-Pro in 1960. 

Campbell's son Scott was a member of the Georgia national championship team in 1980.
