With the start of their annual media days, the Big Ten Conference officially announced their individual player Preseason Honors list. The list features 10 players total, five players from each division. The list was chosen by a panel of media members.
The East Division's list features five young, exciting players who are sure to turn heads this season. Headlining the list is Jabrill Peppers, Michigan's dynamic defensive back who was named Big Ten Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year in 2015. Joining Peppers from the state of Michigan is Malik McDowell, who will be a terror for the rival Spartans on the defensive line in 2016. Ohio State has two players on the list, quarterback J.T. Barrett and linebacker Raekwon McMillan. Penn State's rising star running back Saquon Barkley claims the fifth and final spot in the East.
In the West, only three schools are represented. Northwestern Wildcats Anthony Walker Jr. and Justin Jackson both gained recognition from the media and earned two of the spots. Wisconsin continues their tradition of strong running back play with senior Corey Clement making the cut. Finally, two players who were instrumental in Iowa's 2015 Rose Bowl run: QB C.J. Beathard and defensive back Desmond King (winner of last year's Big Ten Tatum-Woodson Defensive Back of the Year Award).
Congrats to all players earning preseason recognition from the conference!
