Big Ten will debut 'BTN Tailgate', a network version of ESPN's 'College Gameday'

While an ACC Network is still in the works, the Big Ten Network is already introducing a game-day experience.

The Big Ten announced during Big Ten Media Days that it'll premiere "BTN Tailgate" this fall, its biggest programming initiative in network history.

BTN Tailgate is a 90-minute live pregame show that'll debut this fall during the WisconsinMichigan State game, and travel campus-to-campus during conference play. Each show will start at 10:30 a.m. ET and will mirror aspects of ESPN's "College GameDay", including previews, highlights and analysis from an assortment of guests and analysts.

This is a significant affair for every school in the Big Ten, but especially the schools that aren't used to the national spotlight. Since 2012, College Gameday has visited just four schools during Big Ten play: Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State and Northwestern. Since the show will profile specifically Big Ten matchups, the conference puts itself in a great position to expand the viewership of Big Ten competition that the public might not watch otherwise.

Lead studio host Dave Revsine will headline the weekly show, along with studio analyst Gerry DiNardo and former Chicago Bears tackle Anthony Adams.

If it's even a fraction of what College GameDay is like, then Big Ten fans should get excited.
