The Michigan Wolverines enter their game this weekend against Michigan State ranked No. 2 in the nation with a defense that ranks No. 1 in most major categories. 

The Wolverines aren't just No. 1 in most statistics, they're No. by a lot.

Here's a look at some of the impressive stats from the Wolverines' defense.

  • #1 in Scoring Defense at 10.0 PPG
  • #1 in Total Defense at 207.0 YPG
  • The Florida Gators are #2 in Total Defense with a whopping 45 YPG more at 252.0
  • The Wolverines have allowed only two rushing touchdowns all year and zero in six of seven games
  • #1 in 3rd Down Defense, allowing only a 13% Conversion Rate
  • Wisconsin is the next closest Power 5 Team, and the Badger defense allows 3rd down conversions nearly twice as often at 24.7%
  • Michigan has only allowed its opponent in the Red Zone six times all season -That's Half As Many as Any Other Team in the Country.

And Oh By The Way... The Wolverine Offense is 3rd in the Nation in Scoring at 48.7 PPG
