Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data released by the NCAA showed that 82 percent of Division I freshmen scholarship student-athletes who entered college in 2004 earned a degree. Encouragingly, the study also revealed that 77 percent of black men's Division I basketball players who entered college in 2009 earned a degree within six years, up five points from a year earlier and a record high.
