Big Ten Champion Penn State opens as a 7 point underdog to USC

Penn State opens as a big Underdog to USC in the Rose Bowl, but after overcoming Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, don't tell the Nittany Lions what they Can't Do.

No. 7 Penn State upsets No. 6 Wisconsin 38-31

  • Wisconsin took 14 plays to march 81 yards down the field to score a TD on their first drive of the game
  • Wisconsin RB Corey Clement Ran 67 yards for the second TD of the game and had a total of 21 carries for 164 yards
  • Penn State overcame a 28-14 halftime deficit with the help from their defense, only allowing a field goal by Wisconsin in the 2nd Half 
  • On the first play of the 3rd quarter Trace McSorley connected with Saeed Blacknall for a 70 yard TD pass
  • Penn State RB Saquon Barkley ran for a total of 83 yards and scored a TD with 4:22 left in the 3rd to tie the game
  • Blacknall finished the game with 6 catches for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns

  • No. 5 Penn State was left out of the College Football Playoff but travels to Pasadena to take on another red hot team in the No. 9 USC Trojans
