From High School To The NFL: Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey

Scout digs through the archives to bring you the tape, evaluation and recruitment of Stanford running back and NFL hopeful Christian McCaffrey.

High School Analysis:

Christian McCaffrey is one of the most versatile players in the west but was recruited to play running back for the Cardinal. He has a college body, a great burst through the line and the top end speed to hit the home run from anywhere on the field. He combines great balance and vision and can make cuts while maintaining high end speed. He shows great hands out of the backfield as well - Greg Biggins

The top player in his home state of Colorado for the 2014 class, the Scout 100 prospect had totalled over 20 offers by the time of his commitment to Stanford. As the son of a former NFL receiver, McCaffrey was noticed early by schools out west including his father's alma mater, Stanford.

After taking visits to many of the schools on his list, including other Pac-12 teams like Oregon and Washington, McCaffrey decided to head to The Farm, tweeting it out on May 2, 2013.
