From High School To The NFL: North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky

Scout digs through the archives to bring you the tape, evaluation and recruitment of North Carolina quarterback and NFL hopeful Mitch Trubisky.

High School Analysis:

Having seen him live three times in game action, and also at the Columbus Nike Combine, it's safe to say Trubisky is definitely not a combine player. But, on the football field he is very special. At the high school level, he is a Tom Brady type player, but Trubisky is far more of a running threat. Individually, he might never wow the shorts and t-shirt crowd, but as the leader of an offense he is going to put points on the board in staggering numbers. He isn't flashy or one that sticks out with measurables, but the more you see Trubisky direct an offense, the more you marvel at his talents. North Carolina is getting a good one. - Bill Greene

Holding offers from schools like AlabamaMichigan StateOhio State, and Tennessee, Trubisky made his commitment to North Carolina during the spring of his Junior year. After taking a visit to UNC during May of 2013, Trubisky wasted no time and pledged to the Tar Heels. He told Scout at the time,  "I feel like if it was meant to be and Ohio State wanted me, they would have took me first, but they didn't. But that's what I like about North Carolina – they wanted me and they showed it."
