Clovis West Athlete Feeling Fresno State

Fresh off their second D1 CIF Central Section title, Clovis West has their share of D1 prospects. All-everything running back Kendall Brock is verbally committed to Nevada and the Bulldogs just locked up Lewis. But one prospect is being overlooked…

Cornerback/wide receiver Gerald Nutt (6-2, 180) missed most of his junior year and part of his senior year with a knee injury. Therefore, he has few suitors and no offers.

"It's lightweight," Nutt said of his recruitment. "I got a few schools Fresno State, Sac State and Washington State has been calling.

"I've been playing mostly corner but I think they are recruiting me as an athlete."

The Bulldogs may be the closest to pulling the trigger as FS offensive coordinator Jeff Grady is recruiting Nutt.

"Nothing but good things," Nutt says of his conversations with Fresno State. "They want film and that I look good. They really haven't talked about [offering]. But if they do, I'm willing to go."
