The Bobcats are continuing to look to add athletes in the trenches and solidify their pass rush. Just down the road is a talented defensive end that the staff now has a bulls eye on.

Myles Cheatum, is a 6'3 255-pound bull, who uses both his power and 4.7 speed to wreak havoc in the backfield. Coach Washington went up to the Cedar Park HS to check Cheatum out for himself, and just this past Monday issued the offer over the phone.

"Coach Washington called me and told me he wanted me to take a visit this summer to check out the campus and the facilities, and then we just talked about what role he wanted me to play on the team," said Cheatum about his conversation with Coach Washington. ,/p>

Currently Cheatum holds four offers from North Texas, Louisiana Tech, Fresno State, and now Texas State. Myles is receiving interest from Baylor, San Diego State, Louisiana Monroe, Iowa State, and Nevada.

"I want to go to a program where I am able to have a good relationship and a level of comfortability with the coaching staff. I would like it to be close to a big city, and I want to play early and have a solid role on the team," said Cheatum on what he wants in a program.

So far Texas State is the only visit Cheatum said he will definitely make this summer. However, he did also say that he may take a trip to California also to take a look at some schools. Cheatum does not plan to make his decision until after his senior season, giving him a chance to take a look at all options on the table. Texas State is only about 30 minutes from his home and seems to fit most of his criteria, being just a short distance between both Austin and San Antonio. Location could play a key roll in his decision.

"I'm an athletic, physical, but smart player, who is good with his hands, and excels at diagnosing the play. While being a leader at the same time," said Cheatum on what he will bring to the program he chooses.
