Bulldog Burst - RB Jullen Ison 7 on 7 Passing Down Challenge

Running Back Jullen Ison was a standout player during this weekend's 7 on 7 Passing Down Challenge. The Barkboard's Lucio Ourique got a chance to sit down and talk to him.

Jullen Ison is a player that Fresno State has been high on since last season. During the 7 on 7 Passing Down tournament I was able to see why. Ison has an amazing ability to make people miss at the second level. That's just something you can't coach. Ison is a product of Moreau Catholic High School out of Hayward CA. Since the competition was being held in Hayward Ison felt right at home against some of California's elite competition.

Last season Ison finished with over 3000 yards rushing including a 396 yard performance in a 70 to 34 victory over Saint Mary's. Ison made some unoffical visits last season, one of which was to Fresno State and the coaches continue to stay in contact with Ison. When asked about the recruiting process with Fresno State Ison mentioned that he would be taking another unofficial visit to Fresno State this weekend.

Some may think that at 5-foot-8 that he may not have the size to play at the next level. What Ison lacks in size he makes up for in determination. Watching Ison I can't help but draw comparisons to former Fresno State running back Robbie Rouse. Back then the same was said about Rouse's size. By the time Rouse ended his collegiate career he became the most prolific running back in school history. Ison fits that mold. With a little developement and direction Ison could develope into another great running back.
