Bakersfield (Calif) Ridgeview TE Anthony Alcaide ready for breakout 2016

BarkBoard's Valley Spotlight on recruits continues. Our series on DB Nation continues with a look at Bakersfield (Calif.) Ridgeview tight end Anthony Alcaide

Bakersfield (Calif) Ridgeview tight end Anthony Alcaide is a dual sport athlete, playing tight end and 4/5 combo for the Wolfpack. He also excels in the classroom and Ivy League schools are starting to notice. Alcaide already has interest from Dartmouth, Yale, Harvard, and Columbia. At 6-foot-5 and 220-pounds, Alacaide has good size for a college prospect. He knows that if he keeps playing his game, it's only a matter of time before mid-major and Pac-12 schools take notice.

Alcaide began playing a little defensive line this year to hopefully improve his recruitment. On a loaded team like Ridgeview, players have to find playing time where they can. Alcaide will be looking to help the Wolfpack more on the field in 2016 as they try to defend their section title. The Wolfpack fell just short of an opportunity to play for a state championship when they lost to Narbonne (Los Angeles) in the semi-finals. After losing several key players to the Division 1 ranks, the pressure and expectations will be bigger than ever for Alcaide and the Wolfpack.
