There’s no question Fresno State has been busy this season out on the recruiting trail. Like every year Fresno State is always looking for the next talented quarterback to join the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have been looking at prospective quarterbacks and have made a few offers. Here at the Barkboard we have managed to identify and confirm several offers made to prospective quarterback recruits. Below is our Barkboard Recruiting Board of Fresno State offers made to quarterback recruits.
NAMES TO LOOK OUT FOR
MARK SALAZAR - Rancho Bernardo HS, Poway(Calif) --COMMITTED TO FRESNO STATE--
Recently committed to Fresno State. It’s early in the recruiting process so we’ll keep an eye on this one throughout the season. The more I look at Salazar the more I’m impressed with this young man. So much so that he reminds of Derek Carr back in his high school days. He show’s great pocket presence and with a strong arm and great accuracy. Salazar stands at 6-foot-3 185-pounds. Fresno state is Salazar’s first offer but I expect him to pick up a few more before signing day.
Cameron Burston - JUCO Contra Costa (Calif)
Contra Costa QB Cameron Burston (6-4, 210) is a JUCO player who’s on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2016 football season. Currently Burston holds three offers. Hawaii, San Jose State, and Fresno State.
Morrell Osling III - Antelope Valley HS, Lancaster (Calif)
Osling III has a lot of Chason Virgil characteristics in his game. For one, he's near similar in size at 6-foot-3 and 170-pounds. But it's what Osling III does with his athleticism that earns the comparison. He's explosive on quarterback keeper runs. From a passing stand point, Osling will likely have to correct his release, but he does come equipped with the deep ball. Fresno State emerged as offer No. 8 on June 21. Other offers are Dartmouth, Idaho, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, UNLV, and University of San Diego
Kamron Fields - Lakeview Centennial HS, Garland (Texas)
Fields is another talented quarterback out of the state of Texas. Fields has as much upside as any high school quarterback SMU is pursuing. He’s more of a passer first, but he has good speed and plays in a spread offense that incorporates zone-reads and run/pass options, much like Fresno State. He displays good arm strength and isn’t afraid to take risks. Fields currently holds 10 offers including Fresno State.
