Tedford to pick entirely new coaching staff at Fresno State

A release by Fresno State today confirmed that the 2016 assistant coaches will not be retained.

Fresno State announced Monday that the current football coaching staff will not be retained for the 2017 season. According to the release, new head coach Jeff Tedford met with the group today and informed them of his decision.

Said Tedford in the release, "As we move forward, I felt it was best for this program to have a fresh start as we start to build for the future.

"I would like to thank Coach Eric Kiesau and his staff for the hard work they put forth during a difficult season. Their dedication to their craft and tireless effort to keep their team engaged was commendable."

A sweeping change in assistant coaches was reported on the BarkBoard.com Insider Message Board on Nov. 11.

Fresno State is currently conducting a national search for the positions and hires are anticipated in early December. No official offers have been extended and all assistant coaching positions remain open to applicants.
