Bulldogs Show Interest In BCHS WR Jeremiah Foster

The Barkboard's Lucio Ourique caught up with Bakersfield Christian's WR Jeremiah Foster after their State Playoff win against the Bears of Selma. Foster gives his thoughts on the big win and latest on his recruitment which includes Fresno State interest.

A few weeks ago the I introduced a talented WR from Bakersfield Christian to the Barkboard followers and just last week Foster introduced himself to the Selma Bears in the recent State CIF Playoff game. If you didn’t know about him then, you sure know about him now. Throughout the season Foster has been putting up numbers that have made him one of the top receivers in the Valley if not the State. Yet when asked about all of his accomplishments Foster remains humbled giving praise to his teammates and coaches.

Foster and the Bakersfield Christian Eagles will have one more game to showcase what they can do at home against Campolindo Cougars from Moraga CA on Saturday December 17, at 6pm for the State Championship.Throughout the season Foster has received his only offer from Dixie State and has drawn interest from Nevada, San Diego State, and Wyoming. All three of which come from the Mountain West and compete with the Bulldogs. Fresno State had not shown interest in Foster. Now that Fresno State has clearly changed their recruiting philosophies and has now shown an increasing presence in the Valley exploring their options in recruiting and Bakersfield has become one of the focal points in doing so.

The coaching staff has made its way down to Bakersfield Christian and has made contact with Darren Carr and the coaching staff to inquire about its star players on the team and Foster was one of three mentioned if not more. Many were confused by the lack of a recruiting presence by the Bulldogs in the Valley and Foster was among them. Fresno State’s new appointed WR’s coach Kirby Moore was the staff member who initiated the contact with Bakersfield Christian

If given the opportunity of an offer by Fresno State Foster would more than consider it. Foster understands that even though the Bulldogs have not shown any interest up until this point he’s not going to hold it against them since this is a whole different coaching staff making it’s mark on the Valley.
