Florida 3-star linebacker Robert McWilliams decommits from Fresno State

Another recruit who committed to former Fresno State Head Coach Tim DeRuyter decides to look elsewhere for college.

Coral Gables High School (Florida) outside linebacker Robert McWilliams decommitted from Fresno State Tuesday afternoon.

"The entire coaching staff that showed me love has left," McWilliams told Scout.com's Corey Bender. "There was no reason for me to go there anymore."

The move comes as no surprise as new Fresno State Head Coach Jeff Tedford has made sweeping recruiting changes, reemphasizing local and in-state recruiting compared to the previous coaching staff, which valued recruiting in Texas and the Southeast. McWilliams becomes the fourth of Fresno State's five out-of-state commits to announce their decommitment during the coaching transition. Fellow Florida athlete Cody Watson, Texas athlete Javon McInnis and Georgia cornerback Demetrius Murray have all reopened their recruitment.

Fresno State has also parted ways with two California recruits with three stars - Contra Costa College quarterback Cameron Burston and Augustus Hawkins High School safety Justin Wafer.

Many of those scholarships were redistributed to junior college athletes. Five JC recruits gave their commitment to Fresno State on Sunday.
