Fresno State has received signatures from 18 recruits so far today, only one of which came unexpectedly.
Merced College defensive back Earl Chambers accepted a scholarship offer to stay in California and play for Fresno State. Chambers committed to UAB in the 2016 class, but ended up waiting until 2017 to make the jump to a four-year college. He fielded offers from the likes of Cincinnati and Eastern Carolina. Chambers is expected to join the Bulldogs as a safety.
Other changes in Fresno State's expected commits include quarterback Mark Salazar who made a last-minute flip to sign with San Diego State. Three Fresno State commits, Pesa Tupa, Nate Jones and Clive Truschel remain committed but are expected to sign at a later date.
Fresno State is waiting on two more known recruits to make their decision today. Pullman (Washington) three-star tight end Ben Moos will decide between Fresno State and Cal at 11:30 a.m. PT and four-star Fresno (Calif.) defensive back Jaylon Johnson will decide at 3 p.m. PT.
