"I want to keep my options open," Golden said.
Golden took an unofficial visit to Fresno State this past weekend to watch the Bulldogs shutout San Jose State, 30-0. BarkBoard.com caught up with him Saturday at the game and he says Fresno State is on his list of possible schools.
Golden says Fresno State Coach Pat Hill is recruiting him at safety.
"I like the way [Fresno State] uses its safeties," Golden said. "I want to get to the next level. Fresno State is always putting guys in the NFL."
Fresno State DB Coach Randy Stewart has sent four Bulldog defensive backs into the league in the last three drafts, James Sanders (2005, 4th round), Richard Marshall (2006, 2nd round), Tyrone Culver (2006, 6th round), and Marcus McCauley (2007, 3rd round). In addition, Stewart turned former walk-on Cameron Worrell into an All-WAC safety. Worrell went un-drafted in 2003 but signed a free agent contract with the Bears and is still playing in the NFL.
"I talk to coach [Hill] all the time," Golden said. "I am not going to take an official visit because I live in Fresno. I can stop by anytime to check things out."
Golden says he will make his final decision January 5, 2008 at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game in San Antonio.
