Georgia Southern took the Sun Belt by storm in their first season as an FBS team. They went undefeated in their conference and return ten starters, some at very key positions, in 2015. Expectations are sky high heading into the season. However, in order to defend their title, the Eagles have a few aspects of their game that need improvement.

The way I look at it, pre-season “bold” predictions are a win-win situation for me. If I happen to nail my predictions, I’ll be sure to remind you at the end of the season. However if I’m incorrect, most of you will be enthralled with the actual season, and forget all about this pre-season article. Georgia Southern’s inaugural FBS season was a magical ride. Only three teams in FBS history have won their conference outright in their first season as an FBS program. The Eagles made a huge splash in 2014 and basically accomplished everything there is to at the FBS-level already. The only thing eluding that unprecedented season was a bowl win. In 2015, it’s bowl or bust for Georgia Southern.

Joshua Moon a 6-foot 185-pound fierce hitting Safety from Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside High pledged to Georgia Southern after his visit to Statesboro in front of a national television audience. Football is in his blood and the Creekside pipeline (which groomed the likes of NFL Pro-Bowler and current Kansas City Chief Safety Eric Berry), has been established by Georgia Southern.

Georgia Southern commits are very excited about the program and the Sunbelt Championship. Georgia Southern was an impressive 8-0 in Conference play and 9-3 overall for the 2014 season. It was the Eagles first year in FBS football.
