Boyan Talks About His GSU Decision

We recently had the opportunity to talk with Georgia State's latest commit, Marquis Boyan, about his recruitment and selection of GSU.

Marquis Boyan of Eau Claire High School in Columbia South Carolina held offers from Marshall, Clark Atlanta, North Carolina A&T, SC State, Furman, Central Arkansas, Hampton before ultimately choosing Georgia State. He cited "the urban environment," and his good relationship with Coach Mike Riddle, who recruited him, as reasons for the decision.

Boyan played a number of positions this year including quarterback, running back and defensive back. However, he sees defensive back as his more natural, and favorite, position. He lists "speed, aggressiveness, and ability to react to the play" as the strengths that make him excel as a defensive back.

Marquis has an official visit to Georgia State scheduled for next weekend.
