GSU's Newest Commit: Ladarian Young

Yesterday Coach Greg Seibert of Pensacola Catholic High School confirmed with that Ladarian Young committed to Georgia State over the weekend. We've since heard from Ladarian and spoke with him about his recruitment and commitment to GSU.

Ladarian Young is a 6-0, 175 pound cornerback who grew up in Pensacola, Florida.  He held offers from Grambling, Alcorn State, SAMU, Jackson State and Tuskegee, but committed to GSU after taking his first official visit to the school.

Coach Seibert believes that Ladarian will be a great asset to the Panther football program, saying that “LaDarion brought a great deal of character and competitiveness to our Secondary.”  Seibert continued, “His maturity off the field translated into great leadership ability on the field.  The way he handled adversity during his junior and senior served as a great example for our younger players to see and respond to.”

Young chose Georgia State in large part because of the academics (as he plans to major in communications, he likes the idea of being down the street from CNN), and because he wants to be part of the early years of GSU football.

“Coach Curry was telling me about this new program, and I want to be a part of building that,” he said.

Ladarian was recruited by Coach Anthony Midget.
