Georgia State lost four starters along an offensive line that already struggled with issues of depth last season. With that in mind, targeting offensive lineman in this recruiting class was certainly a point of emphasis for this cycle.
The Panthers currently have four very well respected offensive linemen committed, including Trevor Flannigan. Panthersville.com was able to catch with the offensive tackle to talk to him about his commitment.
“One of the main factors that influence my decision to come to GSU was the type of people that work and go there,” Flannigan said. “They all are very welcoming and made me feel right at home.”
With the lack of depth along the offensive line, there will certainly be an opportunity to come in and play early. Flannigan believes he has the tools to seize that opportunity.
“My strengths as a player are all mental,” Flannigan continued. “When I play football I turn into a perfectionist. I never notice what I do right or what I excel at. All I see is what I did wrong and how I can fix it and do better.”
Flannigan chose GSU over an offer from the Air Force Academy, which he seriously considered accepting.
