2013 OL Likes What He Sees at GSU

2013 Dutchtown (GA) HS prospect Jordan Harris was one of the attendees at GSU's Spring Scrimmage on Saturday. Panthersville.com caught up with his coach to talk about what Harris thought of what he saw and where his player stands.

Jordan Harris from Dutchtown HS is a very highly sought after commodity these days. After attending camps at Georgia, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and NC State the 6'6 330 pound lineman has caused a lot of people to take notice.

"He is being recruited by everyone," Dutchtown Coach Terry Herrod told Panthersville.com. "He will be visiting South Florida today and Central Florida on Wednesday."

While the man sized 16 year old will certainly continue to gain national exposure, Herrod says he wants to remain close state of Georgia for his college career.

"The kid really wants to play close to home or in Florida. He has family in both places."

Perhaps that is why Harris chose to visit Georgia State this weekend to watch their Spring Scrimmage instead of taking a visit to Mississippi State as planned. So what did the Hampton, Ga product think of the local team?

"He was impressed by the GSU facilities as well," continued Herrod. "He thought they were comparable to the D-I schools. He was surprised."

But with Harris getting so much interest from ACC and SEC schools some would find it unlikely that he would seriously consider playing for a school that is currently and FCS team. Coach Herrod thinks differently, however.

"If Georgia State recruits this kid they have a chance. The kid really wants to stay close to home."
