William Goodwin made the short trip to Bobby Dodd Stadium and watched Georgia Tech play South Carolina State. "Coach (Paul) Hewitt met me at the gate and I spent the afternoon watching Tech play." Shaq's mom and teammate Thomas Jackson also attended the game. Coach Hewitt had a chance to talk to Goodwin's mom during the game about Georgia Tech. "He mostly talked to my mom and I was trying to encourage them to take a look at Thomas for a scholarship."
Shaq has basketball offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and a few other schools. He's also hearing from some new schools. "I have two more offers," said Goodwin. "I have one from Tennessee and one from South Carolina."
The trip to Georgia Tech will not be the only one he'll be taking. "I'm going to Clemson soon but I'm just not sure when it is." Goodwin's trip to Clemson will be for both football and basketball. He still has plans to play both sports in college.
Clemson may not be the only school that is considering Goodwin for both sports. "I have talked to Coach (Darryl) LaBarrie about playing both sports at Georgia Tech and he said I could do both. "
Goodwin is looking forward to the basketball season at SW DeKalb even though it's still months away. The season should be more interesting for them now that they've gotten a quality transfer in junior point guard Jordan Price. "I've known him since we were in the seventh grade together. Following a busy and productive summer, Goodwin has now grown to 6'8"-235. Shaq has grown one inch and put on fifteen pounds.
