Mann's season hasn't gone the way he'd like it to thus far. "It has been a frustrating season so far because we are 2-3 on the year but if we could correct our mistakes we would be undefeated." Fumbles, interceptions and costly interceptions have been the story of the year thus far for Lithonia. "We have a big game against Atlanta Carver this Friday that we hope to win and get us on a roll."
Dave is really enjoying the recruiting process. "I just got back from a visit to North Carolina State and I really enjoyed the trip as did my family" Mann's mom wanted him to commit but he told her it was his first trip and he wanted to see other schools before making a decision. "I really loved everything about the trip but I owe it to myself to check out all the schools that I'm interested in and see how they stack up against one another."
Mann has three other schools beside North Carolina State that are recruiting him hard right now. "Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and West Virginia are some that are recruiting me very hard right now." He has a verbal offer from Tech and written offers from North Carolina State and West Virginia.
The West Virginia coaches told Mann that it would be in his best interest to take all his visits before making a decision. "They would have hated for me to commit and then visit another school and change my mind." Mann is looking to take all five of his official visits before making a decision. "There is a chance I could commit before taking all five but I highly doubt that will happen."
One of the schools recruiting Mann is not far from where he lives. Georgia Tech's campus is a short drive from where Dave lives. "I like Georgia Tech very much and I've had season tickets to them for a while." Mann wants to be an engineer and would love to play for Coach Paul Johnson. "The only drawback with Georgia Tech is that they are close to home and only a thirty minute drive with traffic." Mann loves his family but feels he needs to get away so there's no chance his parents might knock on his door every couple of days. "This isn't something that will rule Georgia Tech out though and I could sit down and talk with my family about it if I decide Tech is the place I want to be."
Would majoring in engineering be something that would be a deal breaker for Mann? While I would love to major in engineering, it isn't something that would rule out a school if I feel in love with the school on an official visit." Mann has one or two schools that he has high on his list at the present time. "North Carolina State is on top right now because they are the only school where I've made an official visit." Georgia Tech is also very high on Mann's list. "I'm blessed to be recruited by some great schools and at this point I am actually torn between a couple of them." Once Dave finishes his official visits he feels that one school will emerge as his leader or the one that he will give his commit.
Following his visit to North Carolina State, Mann has only one game set up to visit. "I will go to South Carolina when they play Tennessee." Dave might see a few more games but hasn't set up any visit dates yet.
