Daron and Zack both play safety for Walton but both could end up at different positions in college. Daron is a 6'-218 safety that could end up at linebacker in college and Zach is 6'-185 and could end up being a receiver.
The twins aren't far from the Georgia Tech campus and that was one of the first places they visited this past summer. "I liked it and was told by some of the coaches that they like me," said Daron. "I really liked it too and I talked to the defensive back coach (Charles Kelly) when we were there and he was encouraging about us having the opportunity to play there, said Zach." The Tech coaches have kept in contact as the season has gone on.
The twins like the possibility of being able to play close to home. "I could always get my laundry done by my mom and she could also cook," laughed Daron. Tech is also is also appealing both academically and athletically to Daron. Graduating and learning how to survive in the real world and playing football are important in picking a school," added Daron. "I like Tech because I want to major in business and they have a very good program for that," said Zach.
Both twins put football last on their list of priorities in selecting a school. "We've been taught that football should not be our priority," said Daron. Getting an education leading to a job is the priority."
Zach and Daron both feel it is too early to be naming favorites. "At this point, while we are hearing from a few schools, the only offer we have is from Louisville," said Zach. Clemson and Louisville are two of the schools that they hear from a lot. "Some contact us directly and some come to us through our school," said Daron.
As one would expect, both Daron and Zach are very competitive. "We are very competitive but not in an angry way," said Zach. "In our last game we had the same number of tackles and turnovers."
When there are twins involved in recruiting, one of the first questions that comes to mind is are they being recruited as a package. "Yes we are but it's too early to know how this will play out…..we'll see," said Daron.
