Before Dalvin Tomlinson visits Tech, he and his Henry County teammates will be traveling to Milledgeville to play Baldwin County in the first round of the Georgia high school playoffs.
Dalvin is drawing interest from ACC and SEC schools following his performance this season."Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, and South Carolina, and just about all the schools in the ACC and SEC are recruiting me."
Those four schools are the ones that are paying Dalvin the most attention. "Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, and South Carolina are the schools that I hear from the most." Tomlinson has offers from two of those schools. "Auburn and South Carolina have offered me and I feel that Georgia Tech might offer me when I visit Saturday for the Miami game."
Dalvin has been talking to linebacker coach Joe Speed from Georgia Tech. "Coach Joe Speed is recruiting me and he tells me that Georgia Tech is very interested in me and they want me at Georgia Tech." Tech wanted Dalvin to come for a visit and he'll be doing that this weekend.
Georgia Tech is a school that Dalvin likes and he also has some off-season goals to draw some interest to his teammates Stephon Brown and Chris Moody."While I'm getting exposure, I want to get some for my teammates." Dalvin will also be working on improving his game to help get Henry County back to the playoffs next season.
Location may be a factor when Dalvin makes his college choice. "I'd love to be able to come home anytime I need to but if the school that is right for me is not close I would still consider them."
As a junior in high school, Dalvin has yet to decide on a major. "Even though I'm doing well academically, I haven't decided on a major," said Tomlinson. "I'll have to see what really appeals to me."
Dalvin is the type of player that really likes to get after the offense. "Hitting people is my strength and I love getting after the offense." Dalvin has a set of goals that he wants to work on before he begins his college career. "I want to improve my footwork, get quicker off the line, and get stronger."
After talking with Dalvin, we asked Henry County offensive coordinator Rex Robertson about Dalvin. Robertson described Tomlinson as one of those players that you rarely see. "He is great academically and athletically." Dalvin reminds Robertson of former Tech player Daryl Richard. "He works hard both in the classroom and on the football field."
