Tremayne McNair Takes Official Visit

Tremayne McNair has been nursing an injured shoulder, which has cost him about ten pounds. The Tech recruit from White Oak High School in Jacksonville, NC is feeling much better these days and has started working out again. McNair traveled to Atlanta this past weekend for his official visit to Georgia Tech.

Tremayne McNair committed to Georgia Tech in August on an unofficial visit. This past weekend he was back in town again. "I made an official visit this weekend and I got to look at the campus, the locker room facilities, the game film room area, and all the athletic and academic facilities."

Seeing the city of Atlanta and spending some time with the coaches and some of the other recruits was also part of the weekend. "Denzel McCoy was my host."

Football wasn't the only reason why McNair selected Georgia Tech as his college choice. "Outside of football, I know I'll get a good education and there's nothing like the city of Atlanta," said McNair. "There's nothing like it being in the middle of the city."

Having a history with Georgia Tech defensive line Coach Andy McCollum also helped in the decision. "He started recruiting me when he was at North Carolina State and continued after he came to Tech."

McNair is officially listed at 6'2"-225 which is a nice size for a linebacker. "I hope it's a nice size because that's the position I hope to play."

Tremayne won't be the only player from North Carolina coming to Georgia Tech. "There are four of us from North Carolina and we're planning on rooming together."

McNair has been taking care of business both on the field and in the classroom. "I have all A's now and about a 3.4 GPA. McNair will be known to the fans and his teammates as "T-Mayne". Top Stories
