The weekend was one for Darian Cooper to remember. "I took an official visit to Georgia Tech which was truly amazing." When Cooper got home he went to his football banquet and was named defensive MVP. "My weekend was fantastic."Cooper took part in all the usual events that are a part of an official visit while he was at Tech. "I toured the campus; which is a great one and I had a chance to hang out with the players and the other recruits." Cooper was hosted by Tech linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu. "I had a chance to attend practice and watch the teams go through their routines and I had a chance to talk with Coach Al Groh." The trip opened Cooper's eyes about Georgia Tech. "All in all this trip was amazing." Cooper and Coach Groh watched video of the Tech defense and Coach Groh showed him how he'd benefit playing in his scheme. "He told me he was looking at me as a defensive end but that I could come in as a nose guard and probably see the field a lot quicker." Cooper was impressed how Coach Groh had everything laid out for him. "I also loved getting a look at his Super Bowl ring." Darian couldn't pinpoint any one thing that stood out on his trip. "Everything was just amazing to me." Schools that are recruiting Cooper are playing both a 4-3 and a 3-4 defense. Would either hold a preference for Darian? "To be honest, I don't care because all I want to do is get in the backfield and create havoc for the opposing offense." Darian just wants to play whether it's the 3-4 or the 4-3. Prior to the trip to Atlanta, Cooper took a visit to Michigan State. The trips were described as being different. "When I went to Michigan State, I didn't get a chance to watch the team and I only had a chance to tour the school." The trip to Tech included the campus tour, athletic tour, and hanging out with the players. "What I'd like to do is make all the trips I've planned and then compare them all." Cooper has one more trip planned. "I will go to Penn State on January 14th and I should be making a decision shortly after that visit." Distance will not be a factor when Darian chooses the school he'll attend. "My mom is moving back to Florida so I really can't say distance will be a factor in my decision."
