Jeff Greene To Get More Familiar With Campus

Wide receiver commit Jeff Greene had plans to sit down with Coaches (Paul) Johnson and ("Buzz") Preston Thursday evening at his home in Fayetteville, Ga. and also settled on a date for his official visit to the Georgia Tech campus.

"I plan on visiting Tech on January 14, and a couple of coaches will be stopping by tonight to visit with me," Jeff Greene said.

At 6-foot-6, Greene would add a significant amount of size to the Yellow Jackets' wide receiver corps. Surely, a big weapon would enable the Jackets' passing game to spread out, and having a big blocker on the outside could benefit the running game as well.

"There aren't a lot of receivers out there with my height, so I'm really motivated to play right away when I get to Georgia Tech," Greene said. "It's a big plus that all of the quarterbacks who will be battling for the starting job are good passers, too."

The senior at Starr's Mill High School has been a regular attendee at GT Football games in 2010, so he is familiar with the campus, his future teammates and the facilities in Atlanta. Greene mentioned that current GT players Synjyn Days, Stephen Hill and Isaiah Johnson have all reached out to speak with him on several occasions. During all of the visits to Georgia Tech, Greene mentioned the feeling of comfort he experienced on campus.

"The last time I was there was for the game against Duke, but it really feels like a perfect fit," Greene said.

It seems like the Jan. 14 visit to campus will be a chance to get more acquainted with the program, but it doesn't seem like there is any doubt in Greene's mind that he will be a Yellow Jacket for the next several years. Top Stories
