Devin Fuller - Junior Day 2011?

Old Tappan High School (New Jersey) quarterback Devin Fuller will be receiving a lot of visitors over the next year. He had a surprise visit from Coach Charles Kelly of Georgia Tech. Devin has been mostly recruited by schools from the northeast but his name is getting out to coaches from colleges across the nation. Devin was recently named a Max Prep All American at quarterback.

The 6"-185 Fuller was surprised when Coach Kelly came to visit him at his school. "He stopped by my school to let my high school coach know that Coach (Paul) Johnson and Georgia Tech are interested in me." Fuller is interested in Georgia Tech."I like their academics and their football team." Georgia Tech is recruiting Fuller to play quarterback in their triple option offense.

Fuller doesn't see a problem with playing in that offense even though he currently plays in a spread offense. "I'm a quick learner and I feel that I could be successful in their offense." Having to learn a new offense will not be a deterrent for Fuller.

Fuller has been invited to attend Georgia Tech's Junior Days. He hopes to make the trip to Atlanta. "I will see which one I can make but that is something I am going to make." If he's unable to make the Junior Days, Fuller will plan another time to make the trip to Atlanta. "I really want to get down there and check out the school and campus."

Devin currently has verbal offers from Boston College and Rutgers and he's receiving interest from Penn State. "There are a few others but these plus Georgia Tech are the ones that are recruiting me the hardest right now."

Georgia Tech is the only school that is currently recruiting him as a quarterback. "The others are looking at me as an athlete."

The trip to Atlanta won't be the first recruiting visit for Fuller. "I've visited both Rutgers and Boston College." Fuller is looking forward to taking other visits to compare them with the two he's already taken.

Georgia Tech is the lone school on Fuller's list that is not located in the northeast but distance will not be a factor in his decision. "I would like to have my family to have easy trips to see me play and to be close to home but I'm not going to let distance be a factor." Fuller will choose the school that fits him the best no matter where it is located. "I'm trying to get my name out to some schools out west now that Georgia Tech has shown me some interest."

Academics are at the top of the list for Fuller in choosing a school. "I will go to a school with a good academic reputation." Devin will also look at the football program to see what type of facilities they have. "I want to be part of the school and not just a football player so how I fit in with the students will be a factor."

Fuller became acquainted with Rutgers when he attended the National Underclassmen Camp and the Nike Camp at Rutgers. "This summer I plan on making as many camps as I can to get more exposure. Fuller is looking forward to that experience this summer.

When one watches Fuller play there are a few things that are noticeable. "I feel that my vision is very good and my quickness out of the cut is also very good." Fuller is working on improving his accuracy as a passer, his footwork, and his mechanics as a passer. "My passes are not the prettiest passes 100& of the time." Top Stories
