Michael Peek Sets Tech Visit Date

Loganville, Ga. linebacker Michael Peek is a very busy young man. With several official visits on the horizon, Peek has also planned an official visit to Georgia Tech, showing that the inside linebacker out of Grayson High School still holds a heavy interest in becoming a Yellow Jacket.

"It's really starting to pick up for me now," Michael Peek said. "I will be going to Navy tomorrow, and I have other offers from Georgia Southern, Elon and a few other Division I-AA schools as well."

As for his plans to visit Atlanta, Peek has also set a date for that.

"I'm going to visit Georgia Tech on January 21," Peek said. "I've spoken to Coach McCollum mostly, and Shawn Green, who is on the team now. He was a teammate of mine last year, so we have spoken a few times about visiting Georgia Tech."

But as for the official visit, it won't be the first time Peek will see the Atlanta campus – he attended a game this fall and also took part in a football camp earlier in high school.

With Peek seeing so many schools interested in his services, one may wonder if Tech's disappointing 2009 season did anything to make him think twice about attending the university. But Peek insists that the 6-7 year hasn't given him any reservations about considering Georgia Tech for his college career.

"Georgia Tech is still a great ACC school," Peek said. "They had a rough year, but they're still a great university and playing for them would be a great opportunity for me."
