The running back out of Columbia High School in Decatur, Ga. mentioned a very long list of schools that he is interested in visiting and pursuing for his college career, including GT.
"I'm looking at the four schools that have offered me, as well as Duke, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Minnesota," Loyal said. When asked which school was tops on his wish list, Loyal answered that it would have to be the Oklahoma Sooners at the moment.
While Loyal has over a year to decide which school he will choose for college ball, he has visited the campus at Georgia Tech and had plenty of good impressions with the school.
"I have definitely visited, and their academics really impress me, which is important to me," Loyal said. "The environment with the program is a lot like a family, which I also liked."
So before he joins the "family" at either Georgia Tech or another institution, what is Loyal's biggest goal on the football field in his senior year at Columbia High?
"I am really going to work on building speed in my running game," Loyal said. "We run the spread offense at my school, so speed is a big deal."
While the spread and triple-option offense are not the same, they have similar qualities. Even though Loyal said the offensive style at Georgia Tech will not affect his decision, his size and speed looks to fit the mold of a traditional A-back in Paul Johnson's offense. With over a year to go, only time will tell if Loyal has plans to play his college ball on the Flats.
