Jamal Golden is glad that everything is now official. "I knew I was going to do it but it's nice to get it done and I'm ready to get there right now to be honest."
The visit was all that Golden expected. "We had a lot of fun on the trip. It was a blast and we had a great time." Golden especially liked that the staff made them feel as if they were already part of the family. "The whole visit was great and my parents had a great time and had some questions answered by Coach (Paul) Johnson)." Jamal and his parents were able to find out what they need to do to prepare for college. "My parents are very pleased with my decision."
Golden was hosted on his visit by former Wetumpka teammate Tevin Washington. "I hung out with him, Steven Sylvester, Omoregie Uzzi, Charles Perkins, and Lance Richardson." Golden also got to spend some time with recruits Vad Lee, Shaq Mason, Jeff Greene, and Domonique Noble. "There were a lot of recruits there that were already committed to Georgia Tech. One that wasn't, that I talked to, was Stephon Tuitt."
Golden was able to also find out what position he'll be playing when he arrives at Georgia Tech. "I am starting out in the secondary and playing cornerback." Golden is looking forward to playing in the secondary. "I like playing out there in one on one situations."
Jamal is looking forward to signing day. "We will hold a signing ceremony at my high school in the library." Two of Golden's teammates will also be taking part in the ceremony.
