And with that, Roberts said he is quite interested in Georgia Tech, adding that as a local player, he would like to stay close to home. If he played his college ball in downtown Atlanta, proximity to his family would certainly be there.
Despite that, Roberts is looking at other schools, including South Carolina, Clemson, Ole Miss and the ACC schools in the state of North Carolina. So, Georgia Tech is high on his list, but he is certainly not looking to narrow his list to just one or two schools just yet.
"Georgia Tech is a big player for me right now, because Atlanta is a great city," Roberts said. "I'd be lying if I said it didn't have anything to do with my father – he opened the door for me, and it caught my attention because they've always had a good football team."
As for a Junior Day visit, Roberts said that he and Coach Andy McCollum have spoken, but he hasn't made a decision on a date to visit.
"I'm going to try to visit either this Saturday or in February, but I'm not locked in to either date yet," Roberts said.
It would appear that Roberts is looking to stay near Atlanta while he plays college football, and playing for Georgia Tech would be close to home, both literally and figuratively.
