The trip to Iowa went better than expected for Cooper. "It was great, a truly amazing trip for me and my family." Darian's little brother loved the trip so much that he gave them his verbal commitment. "I had a chance to hang out with a lot of the recruits and players and got to know them well." Cooper enjoyed the trip in spite of the cold weather. "The trip was amazing to me."
The Iowa coaches pointed out to Cooper that they were losing three defensive linemen and are losing three next year. "They showed me that if I was ready to work hard, early playing time was something that would be possible for me."
Iowa is looking to play Cooper at defensive tackle. "I don't really care if I play tackle or end as long as I can get on the field and be productive." Cooper's ultimate goal is to play in the NFL. "The coaches showed me how they get defensive players into the NFL."
Now that his visits are over, Darian will be looking to make a decision. "I am looking at three maybe four teams. "Iowa, Michigan State, and Georgia Tech are ones I like a lot and Michigan is trying to get back in the picture."
Cooper has an in-home scheduled with Michigan and he will be talking to Georgia Tech Coach Al Groh. "I want to talk to Coach Groh to hear what he has to say about me and Georgia Tech." Darian is anxious to hear Coach Groh's sales pitch. "I really admire and respect him because he knows defense and how to get a player to the NFL." Cooper is impressed with Groh's Super Bowl resume.
Cooper knows it's time to make a decision but wishes he had more time. "I am in the process of weighing all my options and seeing which school is the best fit for me." Cooper has a lot to think about and a short time to do it. "The school that I think is the best fit for me and my family is the one I'll select." Cooper's family will play a big role in the decision.
