Darian Cooper Chats with Coach Groh

DeMatha Catholic defensive lineman Darian Cooper received an in-home visit from Georgia Tech Coach Al Groh. Groh met with Darian at his home due to his school having a snow day. Darian said Coach Groh gave him a lot of valuable information to think on for his decision.

The visit was one that Darian Cooper was looking forward to so that he could get some answers from Coach Groh. "It went very well and he gave me a lot of information that will be valuable and useful in making my decision."

Darian and Coach Groh talked about how Georgia Tech would use him in their defense. "He said I would be an every down player switching from defensive tackle in the nickel package to defensive end in the regular scheme." Groh feels that Cooper is versatile enough to play both well.

This was news that Cooper found appealing. "I know that versatility is one of the best ways to get to the NFL and if I can show them that I'm versatile then it is not only good for them but is also good for me."

Cooper will be receiving a visit from the Iowa coaches at the end of the week and then he'll sit down and start making his decision. "It looks like it will be a signing day decision for me."

Darian will be glad when everything is behind him. The grind of answering questions is starting to wear on him. The nightly calls are not something he expected when the process began. Signing day is one day that he's looking forward to on his calendar.
