Chris Moody's Getting Early Attention

Henry County quarterback Chris Moody is beginning to get attention from schools around the south. The 2012 recruit is receiving interest from Georgia Tech and South Carolina and Virginia Tech. With schools beginning to hold their Junior Days, Chris should be busy taking visits.

The 6'1" – 195 quarterback helped lead Henry County, Georgia to the state playoffs this past season and was named the first team quarterback on the all-Henry County team.

Chris Moody has gotten early attention from Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech. His first verbal offer came recently from Virginia Tech and Tuesday he received an offer from South Carolina. Chris has plans to visit all three. "Junior Day for South Carolina is Saturday and for Georgia Tech Saturday so I'm not sure which one I'll visit." Look for a last minute decision from Chris on which school will get the first visit.

Coach Joe Speed is recruiting Moody for Georgia Tech. He's given Chris an idea of what he's looking for in a quarterback. "He's looking for someone who can make quick decisions and take care of the ball."

Besides trying to find a good football program, Moody is looking for a school with good academics. "I'm also looking for a school that feels like home." Distance from home is currently not a factor for Chris. "I'm just going to go out there and look."

Two of the three schools that are showing Moody interest are recruiting him as a quarterback. Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech both like Moody's skills as a quarterback. "South Carolina is recruiting me as an athlete." Quarterback may be an option at South Carolina as well as playing on the defensive side of the ball.

Chris will probably not be one of those in the 2012 class making an early decision. "I'll probably wait until there are a few games left in the season so I can see what offers I get."

Living in the Atlanta area, Moody has already been to a few Georgia Tech games. "I really liked the atmosphere at Georgia Tech." When he takes his upcoming visits one of the things Chris will be looking at is the lifestyle of the players.

Moody is using the off-season to improve his skills. "I've been working on my decision making, my footwork, and I'm also trying to get a little faster." Chris is not looking for any particular type of offense. "I just want to play football." Top Stories
